This is the beginning of a new era of Mexican design. An era that celebrates traditions in a modern and conscious way. We are deeply inspired by the natural world and wanted to reflect this love in the designs. Tenango artisans depict the Flora & Fauna of their region. Birds, deer, rabbits, flowers, and trees. A vibrant land filled with life. We collaborated with these artisans to develop the first ever gray scale Tenango embroidered motif. It took 6 artisans over 3 weeks to complete by hand.
We worked with a wonderful Cooperative in Chiapas, Mexico consisting of over 50 Indigenous women for our Flora set. Thus empowering these women to provide for their families, keep their traditions alive, without having to leave their villages. This is only the beginning, we will continue to celebrate, empower, and walk a conscious path in Poetitlan.
